The CANGrow system operates using both hydroponics—the method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent—and aeroponics—growing plants in an air or mist environment with no soil. These innovative techniques, combined with adjustable LED lighting, allow for efficient plant growth and cultivation of various crops even in the confines of space, quite a leap from the traditional space fare of packaged meals.

From Mushrooms to Meat Alternatives

Central to the system is the cultivation of mycelium, a protein-rich biomass grown in UV-sterilized bioreactors.
