Beyond sci-fi dreams Space innovation reached new heights at the 75th International Astronautical Congress in Milan, as Hotel Technology News reports. Hilton, Voyager Space, and Starlab Space unveiled the first fly-through video of their groundbreaking commercial space station project, marking a significant shift in how humans might experience space.
Not your average room with a view The video showcase revealed an approach to space living that defies traditional sterile spacecraft environments. The station features communal areas designed for social interaction and dining, marking a departure from conventional space station layouts. « Starlab will be more than just a destination, it will be an experience made infinitely more unique and artful with the Hilton team’s infusion of innovation, expertise and global reach, » explains Dylan Taylor, chairman and CEO of Voyager Space.

Houston, we have comfort While maintaining safety in the harsh space environment presents unique challenges, Starlab’s design prioritizes human well-being. The station incorporates wellness spaces equipped with exercise facilities and relaxation pods, alongside advanced sleeping quarters engineered for optimal rest in zero gravity. Larry Traxler, Senior Vice President of Global Design Services at Hilton, shared with Hotel Technology News: « Our team is enthusiastic about the future of human space exploration and how hospitality has an opportunity to touch it all—from pre-flight training, to the in-space experience, to our guests’ return to Earth. »
Breaking space station stereotypes The partnership signals a new chapter in space exploration where comfort and functionality could coexist. This fresh approach to space habitation could reshape how humans transition from Earth-based life to extended stays among the stars, making space more accessible to a broader range of visitors.
